Fall Festival at Cotton Indian

Halloween night was our fall festival at Cotton Indian. This year I talked Chris into going (a big accomplishment since he hates that kind of thing). Ava looked super cute and I think she had a good time people watching and being the center of attention all night. She was the cutest kangeroo there!!

Halloween

Not crawling yet but i think she is getting close. She sticks her tongue out all the time now.
She kind of looks like a ragamuffin, but we hardly ever see her sleeping besides on the video monitor so we had to get the picture. She had a messy day at Ms. Linda's and needed a nap before the fall festival.

This was not her Halloween costume but she did wear it to Ms. Linda's. It was cold in the morning so instead of wearing a jacket we wore this cute flower costume.

Pumpkin Patch

Last year Aunt Lindsey and I started the tradition of going to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins. Of course Ava wasn't born yet but I still got her a pumpkin, the littlest pumpkin I could find. This year I thought it would be fun if Ava wore her Halloween costume just since wearing it 1 day isn't really fair since she looks so stinking cute in it. Unfortunately Ava didn't feel that well due to a runny nose and the sneezes but it was the day we had been planning to go and since time is running out we went ahead and went. The weather was nice a little warm for the kangaroo costume but we were not there that long so Ava was fine. We went into the pumpkin patch and found our pumpkins and Ava got her very own little pumpkin that she has been carrying around ever since. This is what she wore under her costume. Uncle Grant said the black shoes were a little much for the outfit but they are so cute and they were my deal of the week so she wore them anyways!! What does Uncle Grant know about shoes anyways??

Weekend with Nana and Grandpa

Ava spent her first night Friday night with Nana and Grandpa. It was actually the first night she has spent there. I'm not really sure why, but everytime she was going to stay something came up (like Nana losing an organ). Luckily this weekend was a success!! I'm not sure but i think she had a great time ( the last picture gives that away). Apparently Grandpa lets Ava eat suckers before she goes to bed.... I guess that is what grandparents are for!! Cousin Claudia was also visiting so her and Ava had a big time. Saturday they went to the fall festival at Heritage Park.

The Painting

Ava's painting is done and it is AWESOME!!! The art teacher at Cotton Indian Margaret Holcombe did this fabulous portrait of Ava from a snapshot of her sitting on the floor in our living room. I had a hard time taking a picture that I really liked so I wasn't sure how the painting would turn out but I think she did an awesome job. It really captures Ava's personality and looks so life like. I have to wait about a month before I can frame it so it is sitting in a box top on the table. I am not sure where to hang it yet, but I have several ideas. I am so excited at the way it turned out that I already want another one!! Chris thinks we should get one of Barley too. It would be cute if we can get a good picture of Ava and Barley...... we will see I guess.

Bar Bar and teeth

Barley had a really tiring weekend chasing kids, playing ball, and swimming in the freezing cold pool. After busy weekends he spends the next few days lounging around doing nothing. Chris took this picture tonight while I was in the shower. Bar waits for me at the top of the stairs, he doesn't want to miss any action down stairs. Notice the black marks on the wall. That is from when we got our treadmill and Chris and the boys thought it would be fun to slide down the stairs in the box. Thank goodness no one was injured!!

Family Reunion

We got together this weekend at Mom and Dad's with Mom's side of the family for our 2nd annual get-together. Unfortunately i didn't take but a few pictures. It was a lot of fun seeing the family and catching up on what is happening in everyone's lives.

Happy Birthday Nana!!

Nana celebrated her 50th birthday on October 7th. Chris cooked his famous lasagna for the occasion. I took a picture because I thought it was cool that he made a 50 out of cheese. How creative!! It was yummy!!

The Weekend

We had a pretty uneventful weekend. Saturday we got out and did some errands and then spent the rest of the afternoon sitting at the house. One of my favorite students Dallas from my class last year gave Ava some really cute Halloween outfits. Here are a few pictures from Sunday of Ava in her Halloween attire. Chili Cookoff at Stone Mountain

Okay I am a little behind, but it was a busy week. Here are a few pictures from last weekend at Stone Mountain at the Chili Cookoff. It was a beautiful day and Ava really enjoyed being outside. She had a good time but it started to cut into her nap time and she wanted to just rest in her stroller. She represented the Bulldogs well in her red and black even though they lost :(

1st Teeth.....Finally

Ava finally has teeth!! Saturday for my birthday Ava's present to me was her first 2 teeth. She wasn't really all that ill, but Meme was poking around in Ava's mouth and discovered that her two bottom teeth had finally cut through. I was beginning to think she was never going to get teeth. Everyone came to get a closer look even though you can't see them yet. Sorry it took so long to get these pictures up but I have been have been having trouble getting them to upload.

Photo Shoot

Yesterday was photo shoot day. I wanted to get a picture of Ava in her Halloween costume for our Halloween card and I also need a good picture because I am getting an oil painting done. The Halloween picture turned out pretty good, but I don't think I have found the perfect picture for the painting just yet. I am going to try again tomorrow when we go out to mom and dad's and hopefully get a good outside picture. This is maybe going to be Ava's Halloween costume a kangeroo. It is pretty cute we think, but we are still going to be on the lookout just in case we find something else.

After the aquarium for lunch we went to the Varsity also a first for Ava. Meme was really excited about Ava having a Varsity Frosted Orange. Of course Ava loved the frosted orange...was there any doubt?? She ate it up and enjoyed her visit to the Varsity. She said next time we go to the Varsity she wants a chili dog....

Today we took Ava to the Aquarium for the 1st time, it was also Meme and Ping's first time to. She was all set in her new blue ocean dress with fish on it. I had been telling her all week about all the cool fish she was going to see. We also practiced saying fishy. Luckily the aquarium was not too crowded so we got a really good view of all the fish. Ava loved all the fish and people watching because she is really nosy......umm not sure where she gets that from??? She had a really good time but I think her favorite part was the gift shop because her Meme and Ping bought her a surprise , a gray stingray stuffed animal that she hasn't let ago of since we got home.
