7 Months Old

Today is Ava's 7 month birthday!!! Nothing new to report just another day. Well I did try to give her some apple juice in a bottle but she didn't like it at all. Chris gave it to her and she was making the funniest faces. Oh well I really thought she would love it.

She has started to snort when she laughs. We think it is really funny and cute. I don't know where she got it from, but it is entertaining.

On Saturday Ava went to her 1st baby shower for her new friend Bryce who is due in October. It was fun and Ava had a good time ( unfortunately I forgot my camera so no pictures). Sunday was a lazy day so no news there.

We are still working on sitting up and hopfully being mobile soon!!!

Sorry not a very exciting post but it has been a busy week!!

Blowing Kisses

So yesterday when I picked Ava up from the sitter after chatting for a few minutes and talking to the 2 little boys who stay there we went to leave as usual. One of Ava's new friends who is a little boy named Zander came up and touched her little hand and told her bye. Okay pretty cute. Then as we walked out the door he started blowing Ava kisses!!! I guess he is probably about 2 and I thought it was pretty cute. However I don't think that Daddy is ready for little boys blowing kisses, the look on his face was not too happy!!!

3rd Grade Olympics

In celebration of the 2008 Olympics and because we study Greece the 3rd grade had their 1st ever Olympic Games. We had 5 events shot put ( bean bag throw), sprint, distance race, jump rope, and 3 leg race. It was tons of fun and the kids loved it. Of the 5 events 4 gold medals were given to members of my class, so I was super excited!! We were the red team ( aka Embrey's Infernos named by my kids). For me not to be the least bit athletic I am very competetive so I was really proud that my class did well. We made torches from construction paper and tissue and made our own class flags. The Henry Herald came out and took pictures and I gave them a discription of the events so hopefully we will be seeing ourselves in the newspaper. Of course the kids loved the thought of being in the newspaper.

Nana and Grandpa stop by

Nana and Grandpa stopped by today just to see what was going on. Shane left for college yesterday so I think they needed a little Ava love to make them feel better. I told them Ava could come over whenever they were feeling empty nest sadness.
She can't sit or crawl yet but she can read!!! It is really amazing how much Ava loves books. She loves to look at the pictures and be read to. So far her favorite book is Fancy Nancy. It is about a little girl who loves fancy things and is a little diva, so we think it fits Ava Girl perfectly!!

Watching the Olympics!!!

Here is Ava Sunday afternoon just sitting around watching the Olympics and reading/eating her book. She is still not sitting alone but she does really good with the boppy. I was trying to get her to make noises by hitting her mouth. She likes that and it sounds like she is singing.

She's Back!!!

Just chillin' on the floor. Still not trying to crawl but she is holding her head up really well. We got Ava Girl back this morning and went to Jonesboro Road to CiCi's and School Box then over to Wal-Mart. She loves being out and about and especially riding in the buggy.
Ava has graduated from her baby tub to her big girl ducky tub. The first night we put her in the ducky tub she screamed her head off, but the last few times she has seemed to enjoy it. She is really enjoying sitting in the tub instead of laying down and playing with her new tub toys. She doesn't like to get water in her face which makes it really hard for me to wash her hair, but I am doing the best I can.

Bored

I have nothing new to post because Ava isn't here. She spent Thursday night with her Meme and Ping because the sitter had a doctor's appointment and couldn't keep her Friday so I had to find alternative arrangements. And tonight (Friday) she is spending the night with her Meme 2 and Pawpaw ( Wanda and Phillip) who I promised last week she could spend the night with. So I really miss her and don't really know what to do with this time on my hands......

Cutie

This picture was taken yesterday and she is wearing a really cute outfit that my friend Deana embroidered for her. Deana gave me the outfit before Ava was born but funny thing is that I was at Deana's house when my water broke 5 weeks early. Deana's son Luke who is 5 thought that Ava was in the tiolet for the longest time. Poor kid still can't look at me. I think I traumatized him for life.

Oh the places she goes.....

Ava in Munchkinland

Ava in Hawaii

Ava is always on the go. We just can't keep her at home.

Happy Birthday Topher!!!

Here we are at the Japanese Steakhouse for Topher's birthday. On the Sansbury side we always go out to eat for birthdays and the birthday person gets to choose where we eat. Chris picked the Japanese Steakhouse.
Ava with her Meme and Ping

Ava got a little ill because she was hungry and I didn't have a bottle. Not totally my fault. Lindsey picked her up from the sitter and kept her at Mom and Dad's house so I didn't pack her a bag because they have everything Ava needs at their house and I don't have to worry about bringing anything. So when we met at 6 to eat she hadn't eaten in awhile and I didn't bring her diaper bag and Lindsey didn't either. Long story short I had to run to Kroger and buy formula and problem solved!!

Ava and her Aunt Lindsey

I must say Aunt Lindsey has done a much better job with Ava than anyone expected ( sorry Lindsey), but you know we just weren't sure about Lindsey with a baby. She is not really a child person. But Lindsey really came through keeping Ava when I went back to work and when we need a sitter. Plus Ava loves her Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Grant.

PS: We went to La Parilla Wednesday night with Ava's Nana and Grandpa and Uncle Shane for Chris's birthday too but Chris wouldn't let me take a picture. He thinks I am getting carried away with the blog.... Pictures to come soon with Nana and Grandpa I promise!!

Sitting Pretty.....well almost

We are really working on sitting. Ava is very close, but really isn't all that interested. Notice Barley run up just to see what is going on. Barley and Ava are both starting to take a little more interest in each other. Ava likes to pull his hair and Bar likes to sniff her face. Sorry it is shakey I was trying to video it in one hand and keep Ava from falling with the other.

Ava and her Uncle Mike

Uncle Mike saw this holding position on Dog the Bounty Hunter. Apparently babies like to be held like this. Ava did seem to like it or else she was just really confused....ummmmm I thought it was funny and blog worthy. Who knew Dog the Bounty Hunter had so much baby knowledge?

Uncle Mike likes to help out with Ava when he comes over and Friday he fed her a snack of blueberries and apples with cereal. He did a good job and Ava enjoyed her snack time with her Uncle Mike.

Things did get a little messy!!

My Classroom

Here is my wonderful newly designed classroom. Notice the lovely blue rubber tile floor. It looks nice in the picture but it is very hard to keep clean. This is probably the cleanest my room will be all year. For anyone who knows me well will know that organization is not my thing....although I am trying to be better. I am really excited about the new arrangement, my brand new white board, my new TV (yes CIE finally has TVs in our rooms), and of course my new group of 3rd graders who so far I have been very impressed with. I think this is going to be a great year. Plus I won't be pregnant all year!! Yeah!!

Doctor Visit

Today Ava went to the Doctor for her 6 month check up. She weighed in at 14 pounds and was 25 inches long. That puts her in the 25th percentile so that is pretty good considering she was a premie. Everything checked out great and Dr. Astacio assured me that her sleeping habits were perfectly normal. He said some babies just sleep a lot. She did have to get shots so she was super ill when we finally got home. She usually doesn't feel well for a few days.

Ava's 1st week with the sitter

I went back to work this week for preplanning and Ava started with her new sitter Ms. Linda. Her week went pretty good. Chris was able to pick her up early most days so she wasn't there too long. It was an adjustment for her getting up early and she was pretty crabby in the afternoons. I think she is going to like staying there and there are several other kids that she really finds interesting. It was really hard leaving her and going back to work, but I know it is best for her and she really likes it there.

Chris's Photo Shop

Chris fed Ava some Chicken Noodle Dinner baby food today that she really did not like. So far she has liked all fruits and vegetables but not stage 2 foods that are real foods like the meats. She made some really funny faces.

Chris photo shopped this picture of Ava.
