BabyLand General

We promised Ava if she pooped in the potty for a whole week we would take her to BabyLand and let her pick out a baby. So she had a great week using the potty so on Sunday we drove 2 hours to Cleveland, Georgia to visit BabyLand. Geech just couldn't miss a trip to BabyLand so her and Uncle Grant came along for the trip. BabyLand has a new location since we were kids but the inside is pretty much the same.

Waiting at Mother Cabbage for her next delivery ( the baby that was born was a girl and she was named Audrey Lea)

Ava got to pick out any doll she wanted and she chose this little Cabbage Patch who looks like Snow White

It was a really fun trip and Ava is loving her Snow White baby. I wish it were closer so we could visit more often. Geech and I loved going when we were little girls and I think Ava will love going back again!!

We made it!!

We started our day off by leaving the house at 5 am because we had to be at the hospital for Ava's eye surgery at 6:15 am. Seeing how this child will sleep until lunch that was not an easy task. She did wake up cranky and really did not want to go to the doctor. But as her entourage( Ping, Meme, Grandpa, Nana, and Geech) arrived she was a little more willing to go. I did not take my camera back as we got her ready for the surgery but she did pretty good putting on her hospital gown and her hospital cap. She was really scared but thanks to the great nurses and her best friend Baby Bear she went back with them with no crying or fighting. She was the first surgery of the day so it did not take very long for the doctor to come out and give us an update. He said that he was able to drain her bump and unblock both her tear ducts. There was definite blockage and he said it was a good thing we were correcting the problem. Chris and I were both with her when she woke up and she was fussy and disoriented but for the most part did pretty well. They didn't keep us very long after and let us go as soon as we got her dressed. They said with children the best thing for them is to get them out as soon as possible.

Last night and today have been pretty rough. Ava's eyes are fine but the anesthesia has made her so cranky and whiny. She just cries and whines about everything. Her eyes don't seem to be bothering her but this bad mood has been rough. Hopefully by tomorrow it will be out of her system and she will be back to normal. Thanks for all the prayers and calls!!

I'm Special

My diploma came in the mail and I am so darn proud of this degree!!! I worked my tail off and I am very happy to have this piece of paper hanging on my "Wall of Fame"!!! It was truely a struggle being a mom, working full time, and going back to school. I am so glad to be done and hopefully this degree will be it!!
