Ready for Church

Meme had this dress specially made for Ava and we thought it was only appropriate to wear to church after UGA's win on Saturday. I wish we had made a picture of all 3 of us because we all had on red. Oh well these of Miss Priss are pretty cute!! Even with her bandaged chin. I so loved these smocked dresses Meme gets her!!

Geech's new kitty

Geech (Lindsey) and Uncle Grant came by to show Ava their new kitty. Ava was really excited about "Doris" ( she calls all cats Doris because that is my mom's cat's name). She actually sat down and gently petted the new kitty. She also gave the kitty a lot of kisses. I am trying to talk her Daddy into getting her a kitty,but since he is allergic I don't see that happening.

Game Day Injury

Well it wasn't a football injury, but it was an injury on game day. Ava was running ( taught to her by Daddy) and tripped and hit her princess table. Well her chin hit the table. It looks pretty bad and hurt her, but she is fine. We have had quite a few injuries lately because Ava is so active, but not too many that have bled this bad. Now Ava and Daddy will both have matching chin scars!!

Picture Day

Ava is really into having her picture taken these days at home, but this day was picture day at school. I got her this cute outfit but didn't have a bow that matches so guess what I did??? I made her one. Yes I bought ribbon and made her a bow. It was nothing professional by any means, but hopefully for picture day purposes it turned out okay. I also got her these new black shoes that I thought were super cute. I have no idea how her picture went but hopefully it will be good. Ava is the only girl in her class so if it is a class picture it will be her and 4 boys. Here are a few shots before we left the house.

While Barley's intent is usually to get food, he and Ava have become pretty good friends. She loves her Bar Ley and loves to pet him and feed him. This was a picture I took Thursday morning before we went to school. Ava was eating her breakfast and Barley was really interested.

Bad Hair Day

Ava's hair usually doesn't look this crazy, but after she took her bow out and brushed it herself this is what you get. I think I better stick with doing it myself and not letting a 19 month old do her own hair.

Yes we are Alive!!

Sorry it has been awhile since the last post. Things have been crazy busy and the laptop has been acting up. We are trying to get our routine back to normal and then I will be better about blogging. With my return to work I have been to grumpy to blog and way too tired!! Fortunately I am getting settled in and should be back to normal hopefully next week.

This school year has been really crazy. I have 23 kids which has been a huge adjustment, and have been trying to stay on top of things. We have about 400 new kids to the school and it has been very chaotic. Since I am really not good with change it has been a tough year so far. It reminds me of my first year teaching all over. Plus I am grade chair and going back to school myself. I'm hanging in, but will be glad for a break soon. Everyday things get a little better so I know I will make it.

On a postive note Ava started her new school at North Henry Baptist. She is loving it and everyone there loves her!! She is the youngest girl and the only girl in her class so all the teachers are just crazy about her. She has adjusted so well and loves going everyday. I have also been amazed at how much she has learned the last 2 weeks. Her vocabulary has increased and she has been singing all kind of songs she has learned. She is really turning into a little lady.

Well that is about it. Sorry I don't have any pictures but we got a new computer and I haven't downloaded any pictures lately. Actually I haven't really taken any pictures. I'll get better!!

The New Vacuum

Totally not my thing but Chris was pretty excited. I do not Vacuum, but Chris loves to. It was time for a new vacuum and since it is seriously one of Chris's favorite things to do we got a nice one. We probably have the cleanest carpet in Henry County, maybe even Georgia.

It is purple. I did pick that part out.

Ava's 1st Trip to Zoo Atlanta

Today Chris and I took Ava to Zoo Atlanta for the first time. She loves animals so we figured now was a good age to visit the zoo. It was a hot day but we really enjoyed the trip. Her favorite exibit was the new parakeet habitat. It is an outdoor exibit where the parakeets fly all around you and you can feed them. We thought she might be scared because sometimes when we go to Randar's Pet Shop the birds scare her, but she loved it. She loves watching the birds in the yard and she loved the parakeets.

Here are a few pictures of our newest friends around the house. Ava loves birds so Chris bought us this new bird feeder to watch all the birds.

Lunch Date in the City

Okay so we don't really get out much. On Tuesday we met Chelsey downtown for lunch. Since Chelsey knows all the good places in Atlanta we ate at one of her favorites Pizza Fusion. It is an organic Earth friendly pizza place ( right up Chelsey's alley, but far from anything I eat at). It was really good and Ava and I really enjoyed our organic lunch and of course Chelsey. I must say the best part of the lunch was the trip we made over to the cupcake bakery next door. Chelsey would always bring me cupcakes so leave it to her to pick a place next to cupcakes. Hopefully on our next lunch date we will eat near her favorite donut shop!!

4th of July

Here are a couple of pictures from our 4th of July weekend at Meme and Ping's pool. I took a bunch of pictures but didn't think everyone wanted their picture posted on the blog of them in a bathing suit, so her are some of the best I found. We had a blast and are thankful for the beautiful weather. We wished it could have been nice Sunday and Monday but 2 out of 4 isn't bad.
